Trogir is a small Mediterranean town on the coast of the warm Adriatic sea, in the heart of Dalmatia, on a small island in a sea strait which lies between land and another island called Ciovo with which it is connected with bridges.
It has a long and turbulent history, unbroken continuity of life from ancient times till today. The wealth of archeological finds points to 2500 old traces of life. During the 3rd century BC Greeks have founded their colony Tragurion on the present day Trogir's location. From those ancient times a stone relief depicting Kairos, the god of happy moments, has been preserved and it represents the town's symbol.
Trogir's turbulent history, full of fascinating events and miraculous legends, is still engraved in the stony face of the city - city walls, cathedral, monasteries and numerous houses.
It is a beautiful experience to visit it and to dive in history for a moment by walking trough its streets while surrounded by old stone portals, noble houses coats of arms and stony faces of people long gone.
After a stroll trough the stony streets of Trogir you can have a seat in a fish restaurant and try "slow food" made from fresh sea "fruits" while enjoying intimate atmosphere of the small town.
The historical core of Trogir is a unique monument of world's culture and according to that it has been entered into UNESCO's list of the world's heritage.
Come and find your happy moment in Trogir
